Teacher guide for Honey Bee Life Cycle Coloring Pages

A helping hand

For the grown-ups.

The included guide brings the activity together with prompts, instructions and answer notes where needed.

  • Egg, larva, pupa, and adult are the four stages. The larva is legless; the pupa has developing adult body parts.
  • The pupa drawing is a cutaway view inside a cell that is normally capped. It must look different from the larva.
  • The adult drawing shows a worker. In a typical colony the queen lays eggs; the cycle arrow does not mean every worker lays eggs. Development times vary by caste.
